Q: How do the straps work in the Prio?

All the straps -- the heel and instep -- are adjustable for a secure, comfy fit. To use the instep straps, simply tighten or loosen them with the tension of the lace that goes through them. For the heel strap, it's best to adjust it by gently sliding it through the "wing" in the sole rather than yanking on it.

The "inverted V" adjustable instep straps aren't sewn down so you can lock in the instep while keeping toes free to move. Free Exchanges!

Figuring out sizing is never easy. That’s why we also have FREE EXCHANGES. Most people find our size recommendation gives them a proper fit, but just in case, we have a free exchange program for all UK orders.

Size Conversion

If you are looking to buy a larger size, the next size up would be in Women’s – the conversion rate is 1 times, e.g. a Youth’s 4 is a Women’s 5.

Worried about your kids outgrowing the Prio?

We know that kids grow, and we’re not fans of buying shoes that “they’ll grow into.” To help out if your kids get too big for their Prio, we’ve created a Facebook Group where you can trade/swap/buy/sell your shoes and pass your still-wearable pair to someone who still fits your size, and find a pair for the next perfect fit. (Note: The FB group is for use at your own discretion. The deals you make are up to you. Look at the FAQs below for more info.)

Caring for your Xero Shoes

To clean your Xero Shoes, hand wash with warm water, mild soap and allow them to air dry.
We do not recommend putting your Xeros in the washing machine or dryer.

FAQs

Are these waterproof?

The Kids Prio isn’t waterproof. But the breathable mesh should dry quickly.

How do I pick the right size?

The Kids Prio is “true to size,” so select the typical size for your child.

Now, that said, sizing is not a science, there’s a lot of personal preference involved… Three people with identical feet will have three opinions about how the same shoe fits 😉

That’s totally up to you (or them).

The Prio is made so it can be worn with or without socks.

What can my kids do in these shoes?

The Prio is an “all-around” shoe. It’s good for walking, running, hiking, playing, climbing… you name it.

How do I send a gift certificate?

After you purchase a gift certificate, you’ll be able to enter an email address for the recipient.

You could email it to yourself and forward it at a later time if you like.

You can also take the Gift Certificate code and send it to the recipient.

Great shoes, with one exception

Got these for my 5 year old and he loves them! At least, he loves them once he can get into them. I'd give these 5 stars, but the small tongue makes them hard for a kid to pull them on. We tried both the original laces and "no-tie" laces. Neither worked that well since the tongue is so small, it dips lower than the top laces and slides down when he tries to put his foot in. I think if the tongue piece was longer and he was able to grip it to pull the shoe on his foot, these would be unbeatable.

Great for my developing child

My 11 year old daughter loves these and is using them for everyday use. She is also doing sprinting and 1 mile runs for her school team. I am hopeful they will encourage her to run with mid-foot to forefoot striking to create proper overall running form and prevent injuries.

Love xero shoes

I have had 2 pairs of xero shoes for a while now and absolutely love them! I love the toe box and love feeling the ground beneath my feet. Although when it comes to kids I wish you offered more sizes with the variety of colors available. This particular order didn't fit my son's feet they where too small and the only versions of this shoe available in his size where lavender and such. Great shoes and I'm happy to continue to support xero shoes, I only hope more sizes with what is available especially for kids will continue to grow with the coming years!
